Laverty (Healius) Mandatory Vaccine Policy Request for Feedback

The HSU has been notified of Healius’ intent to introduce a mandatory COVID-19 vaccination policy for all Laverty employees. We are now seeking any feedback or concerns our members have regarding this policy. This is a collective opportunity for you to exercise your rights as union members!

In summary, the proposal would make it mandatory for all Laverty staff to have their first vaccination dose by 1 December 2021, and be fully vaccinated by 31 December 2021. (Exceptions would be considered for authorised medical contraindications only.)

The policy states that a breach will lead to “disciplinary action up to and including suspension without pay and/or dismissal”. It remains to be clarified what support Laverty will be providing to staff to access vaccination.

The HSU holds concerns about the timeframe within which employees are expected to be vaccinated.

If you have any concerns or feedback, please email your organiser at [E-Mail not displayed] by close of business this Thursday 11 November.

Your overall feedback will determine what sorts of changes we advocate for and, ultimately, whether we can express our approval of it or not.
