No more unpaid time for RATs!

  • Published May 5, 2022

During a recent visit from your local organiser Karen Wiles, members reported they were arriving before the start of their shift to undertake a Rapid Antigen Test. RAT screening for work is work and should be conducted in paid time – not undertaken in 15 to 20 minutes before the start the of a shift.

Senior management have been approached and have since confirmed that ‘RSL LifeCare has agreed that staff can complete their test at the commencement of their shift or if they prefer they can perform a test at home prior to attending for work. They will be supplied with a RAT kit should they choose this option.’

This direction should have been communicated to all RSL LifeCare managers. Should you or your colleagues have ongoing issues regarding the RATs or PPE, please contact Karen via email [E-Mail not displayed] or 0408 164 519.
