NSWA Trainees & Interns getting left behind: ADHSU meeting

NSWA has an unprecedented number of trainees at the moment, the next generation of experienced and highly skilled clinicians. However, many trainees – both P1Ts and PEPTs – feel the Service does not recognise the challenges they are facing or the difficulties associated with being trained by a fatigued and underpaid workforce.

Back in 2022, ADHSU ran a survey of members that found over 75% of preceptors and 51% of trainees were regularly experiencing moderate to high amounts of stress. This is in addition to other structural issues facing PEPTs and P1Ts.

While ADHSU delegates and members hold firm on action to win a fair pay rise, this is not the only issue facing members right now. Delegates across the state call all trainees to attend a zoom meeting 11AM MONDAY 27 NOVEMBER to connect, ask questions, vote on the most pressing issues, and try to find a way forward.

With so much rhetoric about fair pay in social and traditional media, it is essential that the voices of trainees are not drowned out. This is best way to make your voice heard. A zoom link will be sent out closer to the day. See you there.
