Hartley Lifecare: Major Workplace Change

Hartley Lifecare have advised of significant proposed changes affecting HSU members, citing the NDIS funding model and financial difficulties. You can view the documents they have supplied below:

Hartley are proposing several major changes that are likely to have a significant impact on HSU members. Hartley are proposing:

  1. Reduce wages by 5.7% and reclassify positions in alignment with the SCHADS Award classifications. (Affects admin staff, including Disability Program Managers and Pool Operations Officers & Supervisors).
  2. Reclassify DSW positions to SCHADS Level 2.2 or 2.3.
  3. Reduce the number of DPM positions by 1 FTE.
  4. Increase the number of houses Supervisors are responsible for, ultimately reducing the number of supervisor positions by 7.
  5. Reduce the sleepover allowance from $75 to the current SCHADS Award rate (Approx. $55.89 depending on classification level).
  6. Remove the entitlement of staff meals being provided
  7. Only WHS Officers within the Administration Office to receive the first aid allowance.

The are major changes that are likely to have a significant impact. We are currently preparing our response to the proposal and we’re keen to hear any specific concerns or issues that members have.

As consultation meetings progress this week, any member who is affected by these changes is urged to contact HSU Organiser Emmett Gray on 0499 919 355 or [E-Mail not displayed] for assistance.
