Orange Health Service industrial action

Tomorrow health workers across NSW are taking industrial action.

Health workers know why – it’s time for a pay rise. It’s time to put an end to this Government stealing half of your salary packaging benefits. It’s time for an increase to superannuation. It’s time to fix out of date Awards.

It’s been two months. But this Government has been silent on pay for health workers.

Enough is enough. Tomorrow at Orange members are taking action. These are the actions HSU members are taking:

  • A&E will not get paperwork signed
  • No cleaning of non-clinical areas
  • No Discharge cleans
  • Ban on cleaning of public areas
  • Security will only attend Code Black for duress and fire alarms and will not do any other duties, e.g. unlocking doors, attending meetings etc.
  • No clinical waste or sharps will be collected
  • Allied Health members at Bloomfield will not attend Units
  • No chasing up Debtor Details
  • Members will not work any unpaid overtime (ie time in lieu)

This Government needs to hear us loud and clear: it’s time for action now.
