Paramedic and Control Centre Officer Industrial Action June 10

Today we formally announced our intention to take industrial action to the community at large via the mainstream media. In our announcement we called on the Treasurer to avert this action by coming to the table with a genuine offer of a fair pay catchup, that moves towards a true professional wage moving forward.

We have been met with a stony silence yet again. The Treasurer’s failure to act means that ADHSU paramedics and ambulance staff will introduce 24-hour bans on June 10.

This Industrial Action means we will ban all responses except 1A, 1B, & 1C emergencies. The action commences at the start of the first day shift at your station on the 10th and continues for 24 hours.

This action is unprecedented, and we understand there will be difficulties for members. A script will be provided laying out how to respectfully reply to requests to attend cases which are banned. This script will be provided by email and text just prior to the action.

Members already have asked questions about the finer details of the action. While this is still getting worked through, an FAQ sheet is being prepared in order to answer these questions. This FAQ will be sent out early next week. Send any questions you have about the action to [E-Mail not displayed]. We will answer them and include them in the FAQ sheet.

While we wait for the Treasurer to make a fair offer that can avert this action, we ask our members to revitalise any chalk that was sent out in our previous campaign and be ready to put messages on the ambulances on the day of action.

COVID, bushfires, floods and now a pay freeze. This is a protest that the Treasurer can avoid. Until he does, we will be taking action.
