Port Macquarie: Vote for your bargaining committee representative!

Two union members from Port Macquarie Base Hospital have nominated to be on the Award Reform State Bargaining Committee. Port Macquarie Base Hospital is entitled to one representative, so you are invited to vote for who you would like as your bargaining representative. Here are your candidates:

  • Catherine Picton: I have worked for this hospital for 23 years and I have been on the Hastings Macleay Clinical Network Staff Consultive Committee for a number of years. I am devoted to workers getting a fair day’s pay for a fair day’s work and believe we have a reasonable right to ask and receive payment accordingly. It would be a privilege to represent you all as a delegate in these discussions and in bringing better work-life balance for all health workers.
  • Miranda Morrison: I would love to represent everyone on the awards reform committee. I have been in NSW Health for 16 years and have a wealth of knowledge and a great rapport with staff across many directorates in MNCLHD. I have a strong passion for representing my sub-branch members as your president locally and at the annual HSU conference. I also have a very good rapport and regular meetings with the general manager, and I believe this has been a great stepping stone for being able to get things moving and active again here at PMBH.

Please submit your vote here: https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/GSDQ565. Voting will close at 5pm on Wednesday 20 December.

Bargaining representatives will:

  • Attend state-wide committee meetings to discuss the negotiations and state-wide campaign strategy.
  • Report back to HSU members at their worksite on how negotiations are going.
  • Be able to nominate as one of the 15 members of the state-wide bargaining committee who will form the negotiation team.
