Roster and Position Description review at The Mariner

On Monday the 17th of April, HSU organiser Karen Wiles attended a staff meeting at which management announced Calvary “are undertaking an ongoing process of improving their care planning, to ensure that it meets the individual needs and goals of residents”.

Calvary intends to change some position descriptions, as well as reviewing shift times and patterns.

It’s important that you know your rights during this consultation period. Calvary must consult with all affected staff members, which means management must:

  1. Provide you, in writing, all relevant information about any proposed change.
  2. Invite you to give your views about the proposed change.
  3. Consider any views that you raise about the impact of the change.

During this review, all HSU members have the right to be represented by your union. All union members are encouraged not sign or agree to any changes that you are not comfortable with.

We need to stand together to make sure that union members are not disadvantaged by this review. If you feel these changes will adversely impact on you, please contact Karen at [E-Mail not displayed].

Do you know someone who isn’t an HSU member? Encourage them to join our Union today and have a say at work. We are always stronger when we stand together.

New members can join at or call 1300 478 679.
