HSU members have claimed improved redeployment options, transition to retirement provisions, and better redundancy payments for those leaving SNP.

As a quick update on the last negotiation meeting which dealt with public holidays, rostering, hours of work, meal breaks and professional development clauses in the proposed CWA, HSU delegates spoke passionately about their frustrations with the current rostering arrangements and the effect this has on fatigue, family life and passion for staying in the industry.  Management acknowledged there needs to be better training for supervisors to ensure workers can take their breaks and rostering is fair and provided with sufficient notice. But more must be done to ensure workers can access their entitlements.

While a lot has been covered during negotiations, we still haven’t got to the money and there are still serious claims from HSU members that need to be responded to. So if you know someone who wants to know more about what’s happening in bargaining, or wants to get involved, forward this newsletter and invite them to tonight’s meeting.
