Stockton: Update on transfer to the Moran Enterprise Agreement

Moran Australia, which recently took over PAC at Stockton, has applied to the Fair Work Commission to change your enterprise agreement.

Moran is seeking to transfer your wages and conditions from the Presbyterian Aged Care, NSWNMA and HSU NSW Enterprise Agreement 2017, to the Moran Australia (Residential Aged Care) Pty Limited NSW Enterprise Agreement 2021.

To ensure your pay rates are maintained, Moran has agreed to preserve employees’ current rates in your new contracts.

Further, Moran is currently in negotiations  for a new enterprise agreement, which will apply to all transferring staff members. That means any future pay increases for Moran staff, will now include you.

The current Moran enterprise agreement has several improvements over the Presbyterian enterprise agreement, such as better minimum breaks between shifts, better overtime rates on Saturdays and better weekend pay rates for casuals.

However, there are some provisions in the Moran agreement that are not as good. These include access to salary packaging, the amount of parental leave available and the accrual of long service leave. For all transferring employees, Moran has agreed to preserve those superior conditions for a period of 18 months from the date of transfer (1 March 2023).

Further, following recent representations by the union, Moran has also agreed to preserve renewals of police checks and a commitment to publish rosters at least 14 days in advance, until such time as a new enterprise agreement is made.

Please see this link for the full list of the commitments that Moran is making to preserve your current conditions.

The new Moran enterprise agreement needsto include these provisions, to make sure they are protected going forward. If you would like to get involved in the negotiations to represent Stockton, please contact HSU Bargaining Officer Ciaran Byrne at [E-Mail not displayed] for more information.

If you have any questions or concerns about the proposed transfer, please contact the HSU office for further assistance via [E-Mail not displayed] or 1300 478 679.
