SummitCare Canley Vale GSO Roster Change: Know your rights!

SummitCare has notified HSU members of a major workplace change regarding the rosters in GSO (Catering and Laundry) area at Canley Vale. At this stage we understand that only the Canley Vale members are affected, but all HSU members are encouraged to contact the union if you have any information about major workplace changes at your site.

The proposed changes may affect your shift times and patterns or your workload. SummitCare has indicated that they will be maintaining your contracted hours. The proposed new roster is expected to be effective from the 19th of June 2023.

It’s important that you know your rights during this consultation period.

1.    SummitCare must consult with all affected staff members. That means:

o   SummitCare must provide in writing all relevant information about the change.

o   SummitCare must invite you to give your views about the proposed change.

o   SummitCare must consider any views about the impact of the change.

2.    HSU members have the right to be represented by the union. If your colleagues are not yet HSU members, encourage them to join the union so that they are represented.

3.    Do not sign anything you are not happy with. All HSU members are encouraged to seek advice before signing or agreeing to any changes.

HSU Organiser Anita Bhattarai Pangeni will be in contact with union members about the proposed change. If you have any questions or issues about the change, you can reach out to Anita on 0455 995 966 or by email at [E-Mail not displayed]. Alternatively, you can contact the HSU office on 1300 478 679.

Do you know someone who isn’t a member of the HSU? Send them this email. Being a member of the HSU means we support each other and fight together for our rights.  New members can join online at www.hsu.asn.au/join or call 1300 HSU NSW to join over the phone.
