The Move to Maitland Hospital

The HSU has today written to HNELHD in its continued dispute about the many issues with the LHD’s proposed changes associated with the move to the New Maitland Hospital.

You can read those letters here:

  1. letter regarding Restructure of Lower Hunter Sector Maintenance Service,
  2. letter regarding Change Management Plan – Administration Services, and
  3. letter regarding Proposed Security & Wardsperson Model.

The HSU thanks members for their detailed and valuable feedback, which is instrumental in pushing back against the changes and achieving great outcomes.

So far, the HSU has successfully prevented HNELHD implementing some of its proposals (for example, the changes to Administrative Services at Kurri Kurri Hospital have been abandoned), convinced HNELHD to increase security staffing at the New Maitland Hospital and to alter its proposed changes in some areas, and extracted much more information than HNELHD was initially willing to provide.

With your help, we will continue to push for the necessary changes to HNELHD’s proposals over the coming weeks.

If you know someone who isn’t yet a member of the HSU, encourage them to join so they can have a say. New members can join at www.hsu.asn.au/join or call 1300 478 679.

In unity,

 Gerard Hayes
