Tweed Heads Hospital: Bans in place over unsafe staffing, TOMORROW 0700

Dear Member,

The Tweed Hospital sub-branch has unanimously voted to enact a variety of bans on work from 7am tomorrow, Wednesday April 24, due to management’s inaction on safe staffing. CLICK HERE to see the full list of bans that will be in effect.

Tweed Valley Hospital is set to open on 14 May, but management have repeatedly refused to listen to HSU members’ concerns about the increasing safety risks due to under staffing.

Three HSU members have been attacked on the job at Tweed Hospital, along with several nurses but management have repeatedly cited budgetary concerns for failing to properly staff facilities.

HSU members fear things will only get worse with the opening of the new hospital as staff are stretched thin.

On Tuesday, 23 April HSU members met and voted to enact bans from TOMORROW morning.

HSU members also call on nurses to join us and send management a message.

This is best way to show management you’re serious and it’s time they take your safety seriously!
