Union Win: Calvary Mater Catering members get individual PPE

Following the recent HSU newsletter about the cool room rebuild in the Calvary Mater kitchen, members expressed concerns about the proposal to share ear muffs amongst the workforce.

Members stood together and made representations to management, who have now agreed ALL staff in the kitchen will be provided with their own personal hearing protection.

It has also been agreed to pause jack hammering until after 11am to reduce noise exposure for members.

This is a great outcome to protect members’ health and safety in the workplace.

Remember: safety is union business. If you have any questions or concerns, please contact HSU organiser Matt Ramsay at [E-Mail not displayed].
