Update: Calvary Bruce Enterprise Agreement Negotiations

In January, the HSU contacted Calvary Bruce in order to commence the bargaining process for the Calvary Bruce Private Hospital Health Professionals and Support Services Enterprise Agreement 2019 (the Agreement). Clause 6 states that the parties to the Agreement must commence bargaining no later than six (6) months prior to the nominal expiry date of the Agreement (that being 30 June 2021). Despite sending several emails to Calvary Bruce, we have not received any indication from the hospital that they are willing to start negotiating with the HSU. As such, the HSU put Calvary Bruce on notice, and advised the hospital that, should they fail to contact the HSU by Wednesday 10 March 2021, the HSU will lodge a dispute in the Fair Work Commission in order to force Calvary Bruce to the bargaining table

In the meantime, the HSU will distribute an online survey to all members at Calvary Bruce so that you can have your say on what changes you would like to see to the Agreement.

The HSU will also be visiting members at Calvary Bruce on Thursday 18 March 2021 to discuss the negotiations and any other concerns that members have. If you won’t be on site but would still like to talk to someone from the union, please contact your organiser Roy Poynton on 0409 393 295 or send an email to [E-Mail not displayed].

Remember that there is strength in unity, and the only way that we will achieve a good outcome from this round of bargaining is by sticking together and collectively fighting for better conditions and a fair pay increase. If you know someone who hasn’t yet joined the union, encourage them to take the plunge today at www.hsu.asn.au/join or call 1300 478 679.
