Your Allity EA is going to a vote - Vote No for a better deal!

Allity management are taking their proposed enterprise agreement out to a vote. We’re encouraging all HSU members to vote NO to this terrible offer and keep fighting for a better deal – see details below.

But before the vote takes place, Allity must explain the details of their offer staff. We say that Allity hasn’t done this properly, and management are leaving workers in the dark about how this offer will really impact you.

At 12pm today, the HSU will be supporting action in the Fair Work Commission calling for Allity to come clean with staff. We’ll update you after today’s important hearing.

Bad wage offer!

Allity are only offering staff a pitiful 2% wage increase for 2023. This poor wage offer is well below CPI, well below the annual wage review and well below acceptable.

Further, Allity are not even offering any wage increase next year! With cost-of-living increasing, this is effectively a pay cut for aged care workers.

HSU members are fighting for a 6% wage increase each year. We are encouraging everyone to Vote No so we can keep campaigning for a better deal.

Wage safety net cut!

Your current enterprise agreement has an important safety net, ensuring that your wage must be at least 2% better than the relevant Award.

Allity are proposing to cut this safety net completely!

The effect of this change would leave members significantly worse off than the current EA, with some members losing up to $0.60 per hour – that’s over $1,300 a year worse off than your current agreement!

Modelling by the union shows that members are clearly better off rejecting this offer and staying on the current agreement. A comparison of the proposed rates is available here.

Next Steps

Allity’s proposed agreement can only be approved if a majority vote yes. If a majority Vote No, the proposal will be rejected, and we will keep campaigning for a better deal.

We’ll update members after the Fair Work Commissions hearing today.
