An insulting wage offer from St Basil's

Following extended silence from St Basil’s management, your HSU Bargaining Team has been pushing to get enterprise agreement negotiations back on track.

All of a sudden, management now seem to have sense of urgency!

St Basil’s management have sent your bargaining team a draft enterprise agreement, including a new wage offer, and has demanded that we respond within a week, so that they can start progressing the agreement to vote.

St Basil’s are offering staff the following annual wage increases:

  • 2023 - 1.75%
  • 2024 - 1.75%
  • 2025 - No increases

After all the hard work and dedication you have put in to caring for residents, this offer is simply insulting and unacceptable!

And now that management want to rush this EA to a vote, it’s time for HSU members to stand up and fight back!

St Basil’s need to be aware that this is unacceptable.

What’s next?

  • Talk to your colleagues and tell them why they need to join their union
  • Reach out to your worksite HSU Delegate and/or Organiser for support in having these important conversations.
  • Look out for an SMS alert for details about our next HSU member’s meeting

Over the coming weeks, HSU organisers will be on site with material to share and a message that if the offer remains at 1.75%, HSU members will vote no.

We are always stronger when we stand together. New members can join at www.hsu.asn.au/join or call 1300 478 679.
