Last week HSU members met to discuss RFBI’s proposal to rollover the current agreement for another year and to pay staff a 2% pay increase for 2022.

Members expressed serious concerns with the offer, saying that the proposed 2% pay increase doesn’t keep pace with the rising cost of living and doesn’t give members a chance to bargain for a new enterprise agreement.

Members were also concerned that the proposed wage increase falls well short of the Fair Work Commission’s recent 4.6% pay increase applied to all Awards, including the Aged Care Award.

Following a lively discussion, union members passed the following resolution:

“This meeting of HSU members agrees that the proposed rollover of the RFBI enterprise agreement and 2% pay increase for 2022 is not acceptable. We call on RFBI to commence enterprise bargaining with the HSU and we call on RFBI to commit to a higher wage increase.”

We are now taking this position to all HSU members at RFBI for endorsement. Please have your say on the resolution here.

Your union is meeting with RFBI on Friday 25 June, where we will report back on HSU members’ position. We will update all union members following that meeting.
