Fair Work Commission raises Award rates

Yesterday the Fair Work Commission handed down its annual wage review decision, increasing Award rates by 4.6% or $40 a week, whichever is the greater.

This is huge, and it wouldn’t have come about if it weren’t for union members campaigning throughout the federal election about cost of living pressures.

The decision means that disability sector workers who are paid on the Award will receive a pay increase from 1 July.
