HSU files dispute against Abel Tasman over unpaid uniform allowance

HSU members at Abel Tasman Village have been fighting to be paid a uniform allowance, as members are not provided sufficient uniforms free of charge.

Union members have attempted to resolve this matter with management on several occasions over the past few months, but so far, management has refused to accept that members should be paid uniform allowances.

To try and resolve this issue, the HSU has now filed a dispute in the Fair Work Commission. We say that HSU members should be paid the uniform allowance, as per our enterprise agreement.

It is expected that the Fair Work Commission will list the dispute for a conciliation conference shortly. We will provide updates as the matter progresses.

If you have any questions or issues, please meet your organiser Anita Bhattarai Pangeni onsite next Tuesday, 2 May from 12:30pm – 3:30pm. You can also contact her on 0455 995 966 or by email [E-Mail not displayed].

Do you know someone who isn’t an HSU member? Encourage them to join our Union today and have a say at work. We are always stronger when we stand together.
