HSU members say no to insulting wage offer!

Over the last few weeks, HSU members expressed their disgust at the insulting 1.75% wage offer tabled by St Basil’s management. We work hard to care for all residents at St Basil’s, and this despicable wage offer is just not good enough.

Now, without any further negotiations or meetings, St Basil’s and their team of external consultants have come back with a new wage offer – but it’s only increased by a measly 0.25%!

The new wage offer is:

  • 2% from 1 July 2023, backdated
  • 2% from 1 July 2024

Such a poor wage offer is clearly unacceptable and would likely leave pay rates in your enterprise agreement well below the Aged Care Award. HSU members have made their message very clear – we encourage everyone to VOTE NO to this enterprise agreement and this poor wage offer.

What’s next?

Voting will open on Monday 25 September and close Thursday 28 September. You can vote online and via SMS.

If a majority vote ‘yes’, the offer will be accepted. We need a majority to VOTE NO to reject the offer and keep campaigning for a better outcome.
