Meeting re Understaffing and Workloads at IRT Berala

A few months ago, members at IRT Berala contacted the HSU to discuss understaffing – specifically, the issue of staff on leave not being replaced. Your HSU representatives have since raised the issue with management a number of times. The initial response from management advised that this was due to the reduction in occupancy, some challenges due to COVID and a loss in business.

In their second response to the HSU, IRT management denied that they were not replacing staff on leave and that the shifts were only short when they were unable to find staff to fill the shift. Unfortunately, this response does not address the ongoing issues of understaffing and unsafe workloads.

To discuss this issue, the HSU is holding a meeting with management on Friday, 4th of June at 3:00pm. You are invited to join the meeting and have your say using this zoom link: https://zoom.us/j/7274652730

If you know someone who isn’t yet an HSU member, please encourage them to join and have their say. New members can join at www.hsu.asn.au/join or call 1300 478 679.
