Restructure: Corrective Services NSW consolidation of beds

Dear Member,

Justice Health and Forensic Mental Health Network have advised about the decision by Corrective Services NSW to consolidate beds in some sections of NSW prisons.

Corrective Services NSW have advised the decision was made following a review of the inmate population. Across the state, they have the capacity to hold 15,600 inmates, with the current population at 12,300.

Specifically, Corrective Services NSW will implement temporary consolidations from 12 February 2024.
