Stella Maris - HSU is reviewing pay with your employer

Dear Member,

HSU members at Stella Maris recently raised concerns some aged care workers had not received the full 15 per cent pay increase for direct care workers, won by HSU members in the first stage of our Aged Care Work Value Case.

Mercy Community, acting on behalf of Stella Maris have acknowledged there may be an error with the application of the Work Value Case increase and has committed to audit the current pay rates of employees working in direct care roles.

We have a follow up meeting in mid-January 2024 to discuss a joint framework for the audit to commence.

If you are an experienced carer, hold a Certificate III and believe you are being underpaid please email your organiser Renee Sheridan, [E-Mail not displayed] for follow up.

The third stage of our Work Value Case concluded in Fair Work Commission last week and HSU members will continue to push for a further 10 per cent pay increase for direct care workers and for the full 25 per cent pay increase for all ‘non-direct’ care workers. We need to stay strong so that nobody is left behind!

Contact your organiser if you have further questions.

Encourage your workmates to join the HSU. Together you have strength in your workplace. New members can join online at www.hsu.asn.au/join or call 1300 478 679.
