IRT - HSU is reviewing pays with your employer

Dear Member,

HSU members at IRT recently raised concerns some aged care workers had not received the full 15 per cent pay increase for direct care workers, won by HSU members in the first stage of our Aged Care Work Value Case.

IRT have acknowledged there may be an error with the application of the Work Value Case increase and has commenced an audit of the current pay rates of employees working in direct care roles. We are working with IRT to ensure the adjustments are accurate and reflective of the appropriate Award classification and respective rate of pay.

The HSU has secured the following commitment from IRT:

  • Affected employees will receive communication from IRT in early January 2024
  • Impacted pay scales will be updated in late January 2024
  • The back-pay component will be analysed and delivered once the pay scale adjustment is complete (late January to mid-February)

The HSU is committed to keeping members informed and we will keep you updated as the matter progress.

The third stage of our Work Value Case concluded in the Fair Work Commission last week and HSU members will continue to push for a further 10 per cent pay increase for direct care workers and for the full 25 per cent pay increase for all ‘non-direct’ care workers. We need to stay strong so that nobody is left behind!
