It's an overwhelming Yes at HammondCare!

Recently, voting to approve your new HammondCare Enterprise Agreement closed, and the results are in – it was a resounding yes!

Of those that voted, 94% have voted ‘yes’ to accept the proposed agreement.

There have been some significant changes in the new enterprise agreement including several key improvements to conditions, such as an improved classification structure, new special infection leave, and a working alone allowance.

This positive result comes from the tireless work of HSU members in the workplace and at the negotiation table. While we have fundamental disagreements with management regarding certain provisions in the EA, almost all staff consider this an agreement worth having.

What happens now?

The enterprise agreement will now go to the Fair Work Commission to be assessed and ensure that it meets the requirements for approval. We will keep members informed throughout the approval process.

In the meantime, if you have any questions about what happens next, you can contact the Bargaining Officer on [E-Mail not displayed].

Finally, I want to acknowledge the hard work and incredible efforts of your HSU Bargaining Team: Heather Waddell, Brendan Hamilton, Antoinette Schmidt, Katie Fogleman, Jennifer Small, and Daniel McLean.

It’s because of HSU members standing strong and united that we’re able to win improvements in the workplace. Together, we will keep campaigning for better wages and conditions across the whole aged care sector.

Know someone who isn’t an HSU member? Encourage them to join our Union today and have a say at work. We are always stronger when we stand together.
