The death of a family member can be a challenging and stressful time. To help support the family and loved ones of our members, especially in their time of need, the HSU provides a $5,000 bereavement payment to the next of kin of the deceased member.
The $5,000 bereavement payment made to the deceased member’s next of kin can assist with a range of costs through the stressful period including member’s funeral, rent assistance, outstanding bills, credit cards etc.
Members are covered for accidental death and illnesses. This includes pre-existing illnesses.
Full details of this benefit and how to claim are available in the HSU Member Portal or by contacting the Union on [E-Mail not displayed].
